Police took three people into custody in Lakewood just minutes ago following a ten-minute pursuit that began in South Tacoma, Lakewood police Lt. Dave Guttu said.

Either the Ford Expedition was reported stolen or just its license plates or both, Guttu said. Police took two men and a woman into custody near 108th Street Southwest and Bridgeport Way Southwest. The pursuit began near Mount Tahoma High School about 1:35 p.m., he said.

Investigators believe the vehicle was used in a burglary Wednesday in Tacoma.

UPDATE: Meant to get this information to you all on Thursday but things got a little busy around here.

Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum filled in a few of the blanks on this incident.

The Ford Expedition pulled into the parking lot at Mount Tahoma High School on South 74th Street shortly after 1:30 p.m. An officer saw it pull it and recognized it as a vehicle stolen during a burglary.

The officer tried to stop the vehicle but the driver took off.

The driver hit a number of occupied cars around South 80th Street and South Tacoma Way as it fled from police. No major injuries were reported in those accidents but it did cause some traffic issues.

The driver then pulled into a parking lot at 108th Street Southwest and Bridgeport Way Southwest, where the three occupants were taken into custody.
