Principal accused of rape in court today

Tacoma principal Harold Wright Jr., accused of rape, makes his first court appearance this afternoon.

Wright is the principal of Baker Middle School but was put on administrative leave last week when criminal charges were filed against him. The charges stem from an incident in 2004 involving a former student at a house party. Wright’s attorney has said he is innocent.

Today’s court appearance will likely be an arraignment and bail hearing. We probably won’t hear much that is new about the case.

Adam will be there to report on it.
