Suspect in triple murder to plead guilty today

Ronee Gutierrez is scheduled to plead guilty today for her role in the February 2006 murder of three young Tacoma residents.

Gutierrez, 21, has admitted to detectives that she took part in the killings of Darren Christian, Daniel Varo and Lindy Cochoran, who were gunned down by Ulysses Handy during a robbery.

Gutierrez went along when Handy and two other young men drove to Christian’s home the night of the shooting. It also was in her room that Handy and the others broke open a safe stolen during the incident and divvied up the money found in it. Gutierrez also helped get rid of the safe later, according to court documents.

Handy, you’ll recall, is the man who told the victims’ families to “get over it” during his sentencing.

I’ll try to post an update to the home page folllowing the hearing.
