L & S reader Ray e-mailed us this morning with this puzzle to solve:

Yesterday 16 Nov at 6:20PM : Intersection of 72nd and Portland on the Payless shoe store side of the street, emergency ambulance facing against traffic with several Tacoma police and Sheriff vehicles. A body was being extracted from a late model dodge intrepid.

We put the question to Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum, who responded.

It appears it was a medical aid call. “It was called out by county K-9 and in the call he states it was not a collision, but a medical aid call,” Fulghum said.
