This just in from Sgt. John Urquhart of the King County Sheriff’s Office:

The body of a man was found in the crawlspace of a Skyway* home recently. Detectives believe the man was likely a murder victim.

Partial remains of the victim were found on October 24th when the homeowner’s dog retrieved some human bones, apparently from underneath the house. Sheriff’s detectives did a more thorough search of the crawlspace and located additional remains.

The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the remains as those of Ondra T. Smith. He was reported missing to Seattle Police in 1992 at the age of 19. He did not live at the house where he was found.

The current residents of the house have lived there since 2001, and are not otherwise part of our investigation. Therefore, we are not releasing the address or the block number where the remains were found.

The investigation is continuing.
