Police stats for Ruston Way 2006

Tacoma police Lt. Alan Roberts reports the following stats for the department’s emphasis patrols along Ruston Way between April and Labor Day weekend.

(Ruston Way, as you may know or recall, gets packed on sunny summer weekend nights and can provide a challenge to the police department. The agency beefs up its staff down there to prevent or quell trouble.)

- Officer hours: 2,486. This doesn’t include the sergeants.

- Verbal warnings: 1,300+.

- Notice of infractions issued: 1,200.

- Misdemeanor arrests: 115.

- Felony arrests: 7.

- Business contacts: At least 410.

- Patrol assists: 130.

- Animal control contacts and warnings: 96.

- Citizen contacts: 3,500.
