A reader of Lights & Sirens asked us about an incident at Mount Tahoma High School on Friday night after the football game.
“Gunshots were heard..then screaming..and a bit later police were everywhere,” the reader wrote in a comment to the blog.
Tacoma police report there was a drive-by shooting at the school around 10:15 p.m. As the crowd was leaving after the football someone in a car on South 74th Street fired three shots, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.
No one was injured by the gunfire. However, one person suffered a knee injured in the panic that ensued at the shots rang out, Fulghum said. Police did not have a detailed description of the gunman or the vehicle involved. No arrests have been reported.
Police Lt. Bob Sheehan told Lights & Sirens that there will be an increased presence Friday at the football game between Lincoln and Mount Tahoma.
