Monique Trudnowski, Tacoma restaurant owner and chairwoman of the Tacoma Regional Convention + Vistor Bureau, has been appointed to serve a five-year term as a member of the Tacoma Public Utility board. She will attend her first board meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
In her role as co-owner and operator of Adriatic Grill Italian Cuisine & Wine Bar, and as a community activist, Trudnowski recently received congressional recognition for her service to the greater Tacoma area and the state.
“I am interested in adding another layer of knowledge and advocacy by serving the customers of Tacoma Public Utilities,” Trudnowski stated in a TPU release.
She is a founding member of the Washington Tourism Alliance also serves on the board of the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts.
Trudnowski recently won the National Restaurant Association’s Faces of Diversity Award, which recognizes the role diversity plays in helping people achieve professional and personal success.
The Public Utility Board is the governing body for Tacoma Public Utilities, which comprises Tacoma Power, Tacoma Water and Tacoma Rail.
The City Council appoints the five members, who serve five-year terms without pay. The Board meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Public Utilities Administration Building.
