Goodwill will open a new Tacoma outlet on May 2, according to a release last week.

The 12,000-square-foot store, at 3120 S. Pine St. in Nalley Valley, is the newest of 31 Goodwill outlets in the region managed from the central Tacoma office.

The Pine Street outlet will replace a store on South 27th Street in Tacoma, according to the release.

“The new outlet location will be more customer-friendly because it is centrally located, provides additional parking and increases the selection of goods available,” said Mark Holcomb, senior vice president of business services at Goodwill. “By eliminating the distance between our area retail and recycling operations we reduce transportation costs, leaving more funding for Tacoma-area job training and placement programs.”

The new store will offer an array of items on sale including housewares, furniture, casual clothing and accessories.

Beginning May 2 and continuing through May 5, customers may enter a contest to win a new flat-screen television and grocery-store gift cards.
