Weyerhaeuser, a retired senior executive of the wood products company that bears his family name and a longtime civic leader in Tacoma, died Sunday of a heart attack. Weyerhaeuser was on his boat in Commencement Bay.

Weyerhaeuser was a founding board member of the Museum of Glass and served as its chairman from 2004 through 2008.

The civic leader was serving as president of the Foss Waterway Development Authority Board when he died.  He had served on that board since its inception.

A private service for Weyerhaeuser will be held in the near future.
