A California company that operates the world’s second largest network of cold storage warehouses this week added cold storage facilities in Tacoma and Algona to its property portfolio.

Lineage Logistics of Colton, Calif., announced it has acquired Tacoma and Algona warehouses owned by Seattle Cold Storage.  Lineage already operates two Western Washington refrigerated warehouses, Seafreeze and CityIce in Seattle.

Together, the two new warehouses comprise 420,000 square feet of additional storage area.  The company operates warehouses on the West Coast, the Southeast, Texas and other parts of the nation that total 13 million square feet.

“We plan to make long-term improvements to the facilities to enhance capacity and increase energy efficiency,” said Adam Forste, managing director of Bay Grove Capital LLC, Lineage’s parent company.

The Tacoma refrigerated warehouse is located at 2302 Milwaukee Way.  The Algona facility is at 502 10th Ave. N.

“We are looking forward to building our relationship with the Port of Tacoma and providing our employees with a rewarding and safe work environment,” said Forste.

Over the last four years, Bay Grove has added to Lineage’s network with nine acquisitions.
