An online campaign by the Tacoma soup emporium Infinite Soups to raise funds for a second location has reached 60 percent of its goal.

The campaign – to raise a total of $5,300 – would ensure the opening of a soup outlet in the downtown A Street post office later this year. By Friday afternoon, donors had pledged $3,205. If the full goal is reached within the next 21 days, the pledged funds will be given to the owners.

Another Tacoma effort, “42 Sketches 2013” by Michaela Evans, has garnered $2,253, which represents pledges at 225 percent of the stated goal. That campaign will end in eight days and is assured funding.

Infinite Soups co-owner Wendy Clapp said Friday that she was pleased by the response of donors, and that she expects funding to continue within the next three weeks.
