A month ago, prices were $3.726 a gallon. Before Christmas, prices bottomed out at below $3.30 a gallon.
Nationwide, the average price Tuesday was $3.666.
The least expensive gas in the South Sound, $3.59 a gallon, could be found at two Pierce County Costcos, one near the Tacoma Mall and the other in Gig Harbor, at the unbranded former Arco station at Portland and Puyallup avenues in Tacoma and at two Arco stations at South 56th and Orchard and at South 84th Street and Pacific Avenue.
The lowest price in the Olympia area was at an Arco at 1306 Fones Rd SE near Potomac Lane.
