Ever wonder how to get your business or your nonprofit event into the daily paper, onto a local website or somewhere within, say, a blog such as the one you’re reading right now? Ever faced the pressure of writing a press release?

There’s hope.

The City of Gig Harbor’s Arts Commission will host a workshop, “Making Friends with the Media,” on Wednesday, March 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Gig Harbor Civic Center, 3510 Grandview Street in Gig Harbor.

The free workshop is open to the public.

Local non-profit organizations, small businesses and anyone who desires to learn how to use media for promotion is invited. A panel of local media and marketing professionals will include several media representatives – including The News Tribune’s own arts writer, Rosemary Ponnekanti; plus reporter Brett Davis of The Peninsula Gateway.
