Tacoma Macy’s workers’ union reaches tentative deal

A union representing workers at Macy’s Tacoma Mall store have reached a tentative agreement with the retailer for a new contracts.

United Food and Commercial Workers Local 367 said today that the union is recommending its members ratify the agreement.  Members will vote Wednesday on the deal.macy's

Negotiations between Macy’s and the UFCW began Jan. 23.  The tentative deal was reached last Wednesday after an all-night bargaining session.

Details of the contract were not disclosed to the public.




Negotiations between Local 367 and Macy’s began on January 23, and went on through early March. Union members showed strong solidarity while working toward a fair contract.

A tentative agreement was secured on the morning of March 6, after a bargaining session that went on through the night.


Members will be voting to ratify the contract on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. The union is recommending the agreement to its members.
