If you don’t know your EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) from the EFTPS (Electronic Federal Tax Payment System), there’s help available, and it’s free, and it arrives on Saturday at two Tacoma locations.

KeyBank is partnering with two local agencies to provide free tax advice to low- and moderate-income wage earners. The events are being held as part of what’s known as Super Refund Saturday.

The return-preparation gatherings will be held at the Tacoma Goodwill Milgard Opportunity Center, 714 S. 27th St.; and at South Sound Outreach, 1106 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Both begin at 9 a.m. and run until 2 p.m.

Tax filers are encouraged to pre-register. For the Goodwill meeting, call 253-573-6698; for the South Sound Outreach meeting call 253-593-2111.

At the events, community volunteers and banking professionals will provide free tax-preparation assistance, with an emphasis on helping to identify eligibility for the Earned Income Tax Credit – which could result in refunds ranging from $475 to $5,800, depending on income and family size.

Several Pierce County agencies will be providing help with IRS returns during tax season. For a full list, visit
