A casual Thursday gathering will give Tacomans a chance to learn about stormwater improvements being made downtown as part of the Pacific Avenue Streetscape Project.

The event is part of Green Drinks, a social group that brings together Pierce County residents who are interested in environmental issues. It will be at 6 p.m. at The Office Bar and Grill, 813 Pacific Avenue.

The Pacific Avenue project is a downtown makeover of the street, which will include new sidewalks and landscaping, among other upgrades.

The city will collect feedback on the construction, which began in earnest at the start of the year, at a public meeting at 9 a.m. Feb. 20 at the Pita Pita, 921 Pacific Avenue.
