Both outlets of Renton Western Wear – one in Renton and the other at 5015 Tacoma Mall Blvd. – closed temporarily on Friday. The stores will reopen on Feb. 8 and will begin a final clearance sale that may last for up to 60 days.

After that, Renton Western Wear will close permanently, according to company official Jerry Kavesh. Founded in 1950, the company at one time offered three outlets plus catalog sales.

The company is known for its stock of Western boots, jeans, hats and other related products. The final clearance sale will feature a $1.5 million inventory, Kavesh said in a release.

The company will continue to honor gift cards and store credits during the final sale, and customers with special orders will be contacted concerning deliveries or refunds.
