Turkish Airlines and Boeing today announced an order for 15 777-300ER airlines worth $4.7 billion at list prices.

The order also includes options for five more of the big twin-engine, two-aisle planes.

The order is largest by value that the Istanbul-based air carrier has ever signed.

The airline already operates a dozen of the Everett-built planes. The first of those was delivered by Boeing in October 2010. The new planes will allow the Turkish carrier to serve new destinations worldwide.

The 777-300ER seats a maximum of 386 passengers in a three-class configuration. The plane has an unrefueled range of 9,100 miles.
