A Seattle-based glass entrepreneur will be in Tacoma next week in an event to benefit two local charities.

Lee Rhodes, founder of Glassybaby, will be at The Swiss Pub on Dec. 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Rhodes founded Glassybaby about ten years ago, during one of her bouts with cancer, and now a portion of her company’s profits are donated to cancer-related charities.

Glassybabys are hand-blown votive candle holders that retail for $40. Each is made by hand and is unique.

Ten percent of the sales from the Tacoma event, at 1904 Jefferson Ave., will benefit MultiCare’s Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation and MultiCare’s Health Foundation’s Oncology Helping Hands Fund.
