Tacoma’s Proctor shopping district gains a new boutique Friday when Tacoma Goodwill opens an upscale store featuring designer apparel, shoes and home decor.
As befits a more upscale offering, the new store will adopt a new name, blue.
“Blue combines classic elegance with a modern flare while offering new and upscale unique high-quality clothing and specialty items, such as Coach purses, Lucky & 7 for Mankind jeans, Ugg & Coach shoes, and vintage home décor,” said John Nadeau, retail sales director at Tacoma Goodwill. “It’s a win-win for the community and our customers. Every purchase goes back into the local community.”
Revenues from the sale of items at blue, will be used to fund Goodwill’s job training and placement services for people with disabilities and disadvantages in the Tacoma community.
The store manager of blue is Deanne Lindberg who has an extensive background in fashion retail, previously working at Macy’s. Lindberg has been with Tacoma Goodwill Industries for two years at various locations, most recently at the North Tacoma store.
Blue is located at 2520 N. Proctor St. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
