An eagle-eyed reader alerted me this morning that a billboard was being dissembled in the Nalley Valley, near the intersection of Center and Pine streets.
It was one of two that came down today, the first of 20 structures to be removed under a legal time-out announced in August between Clear Channel Outdoor and the City of Tacoma. The other was at 1210 Tacoma Ave. S., Clear Channel spokesman Jim Cullinan said in an email.
Billboard structure removal will happen over the next 60 days, Cullinan said. The next one to come down is scheduled for Friday, at 2112 Jefferson Ave.
