Albertson’s today clarified the location of four South Sound stores it plans to close before Dec. 1.

Those grocery store closings are among 60 nationwide announced by Albertson’s parent company, Supervalu, Wednesday.

In addition to the four South Sound Albertson’s, Supervalu is closing two Save-A-Lot stores in the region. Those stores are located on Pacific Avenue in Tacoma and in Port Orchard. Save-A-Lot is a Supervalu subsidiary as is Alberston’s.

Albertson’s spokeswoman Lilia Rodriguez said one of the stores destined for closure was wrongly identified in the company’s computer system as being in Sumner. There is no Albertson’s in Sumner. The store is located at 20025 Highway 410 E. in Bonney Lake.

In Auburn, where the chain has two stores, the North Auburn store at 1347 Auburn Way N. is closing. In Lacey, the store at 6100 Pacific Ave. S.E. is set to shut down. In Kent, the store at 2600 108th Ave. S.E. will close before Dec. 1.

Supervalu is closing the underperforming stores to help improved its financial results.
