Tacoma’s Pump It Up closes

From my circle of parent friends, I just heard that Pump It Up, the indoor bouncy house business over near the Tacoma Mall area, has closed.

The business’s website confirms it, though it offers no explanation. I’m also not sure when it happened, since I haven’t taken my kiddos to a party there in a few months. Do any of you have some insight into timing or other factors?

Pump it Up has two other locations in Washington, according to its website: in Kirkland and Lynnwood.

According to the State of Washington, owners James Shirreff and Rhonda Edenholm have operated the franchise at 3610 Pine St. since 2006. I’m trying to get ahold of them this morning, and I’ll update this post when I know more.

UPDATE, 11:10 a.m.: I just spoke with Mr. Shirreff. He said he had no comment on the situation, other than that the business didn’t work out.

It seems the business closed its doors this past weekend.
