Nearly 350 workers employed by civilian contractor URS Corp. at Joint Base Lewis-McChord will get their first raise in three years under a union contract they ratified this week.
The contract is the first of the workers since they voted last December to join Machinists Union District Lodge 751.
The contract, approved by a 76-percent vote, grants workers a 2.75 percent raise the first year, 3 percent the second and 3.25 percent the third year.
Under the new deal, union workers will receive two additional vacation days in 2013 and a third additional day in 2014.
Additional 25-cent-an-hour raises will be awarded in the contract’s second and third year in seven job categories, the union said.
The contract takes effect Aug. 3. The contract covers URS employees who work on helicopters and do site maintenance at the big military base south of Tacoma.
