One of the fastest growing real estate firms in the state is hiring with an eye to the opening of an office in Tacoma.

“We’ll be hiring 40 people over the next year,” said Chad Storey, president of the Kirkland-based Asset. “We’re looking forward to expanding our operations into Pierce County.”

The firm operates offices in King, Kitsap and Snohomish counties. Storey said he has doubled his staff annually since its founding in 2005.

“We’re a real estate brokerage, and we have a software twist,” he said.

The company identifies distressed properties – including homes in foreclosure – as they come onto the market. An e-mail blast is then sent notifying customers who might be interested in he property.

“When customers register, we start sending them alerts,” Storey said. “They can customize their profile.”

Along with the expansion into Pierce County, Storey said he plans to grow into California by 2013 and then aim for offices on the East Coast.

In Pierce County, he said he is hiring “very technically savvy brokers and staff. We are building a call center, and will hire 10 inside sales call-center reps.”

Storey has planned a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Aug. 14 at his offices at 3906 So. 74th St.
