Gas prices in the South Sound appear to be stabilizing after a long fall from their Memorial Day highs.

The average price of a gallon of unleaded regular in Tacoma Friday was $3.52. That’s up just a hair, 0.1 cent a gallon, from Thursday’s average price according to The News Tribune’s Gas
Deal Finder

That price is still down 3.8 cents from the average just a week ago and 70.1 cents from the price a month ago. Friday’s average is nearly 80 cents less per gallon than the Memorial weekend peak.

Friday’s average price was 21.1 cents below where it was on the same day last year.

The least expensive gas in the Tacoma area was reported to be at the Arco station 104th Street and Portland Avenue where the price is $3.33 a gallon.

In the Olympia area, the low prices are even lower, $3.31 a gallon at two Arco stations, one at 402 Sleater Kinney Road and one at 7291 Martin Way.
