If you work in tech in Tacoma, or support tech in Tacoma, or want more tech in Tacoma, plan to mix and mingle at the Hotel Murano on Monday.

The city’s economic development department has put together an entrepreneur networking event focused on Tacoma’s cyber-security technology sector, according to a news release.

Mayor Marilyn Strickland and several tech experts from the University of Washington Tacoma’s Institute of Technology will be there, as well as private business leaders including SiteCrafting President Brian Forth and Internet Identity CEO Lars Harvey. (Here’s a story I wrote recently about Internet Identity’s plans to grow.)

The event will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the Hotel Murano, 1320 Broadway. No RSVP is required, and the event will have a no-host bar. Go to www.tacomameansbusiness.com for more information.
