Sea-Tac ranks fourth in March in on-time departures

Sea-Tac Airport ranked fourth among major North American airports in March in on-time departures, new figures from show.

Nearly 87 percent of flights last month departed Sea-Tac within 15 minutes of their scheduled time, those figures show. The federal Department of Transportation defines “on-time” as meaning within 15 minutes of the time the airline publishes in its schedules.

Salt Lake City’s airport held the top spot on the on-time list with 88.82 percent punctual departures.

Portland was second with 87.46 on-time departures.

SeaTac-based Alaska Airlines ranked third among major North American carriers in on-time arrivals with 84.53 percent of its flights on-time.
