Passenger traffic at Sea-Tac Airport jumped by nearly 7 percent in February, new figures from the airport show.

That increase, 6.68 percent for the month, follows a 2011 that saw new records for airport passenger traffic set at Sea-Tac.

For the first two months of 2012 the airport is reporting passenger volumes increased by 2.92 percent.

Those increases came in all categories, both in domestic and international traffic and outbound and inbound travelers.

In February, 2,242,035 passengers used the airport’s facilities compared with 2,101,559 in February 2011. That’s an increase of 140,476.

Cargo traffic also saw an increase. That amounted to 385 more metric tons of cargo handled through airport facilities in February, a 5.51 percent increase.
