Winter fares surfacing early from Sea-Tac

A blizzard of winter airline fares is making an unseasonable appearance this year on the Internet.

The prices — if you can reserve now and if you’re not particular about when you go — are as good as they’ve been in years.

For instance look at these one-way sale fares from Sea-Tac:

San Francisco and San Jose: $40
Los Angeles: $60
Long Beach: $80
Dallas-Fort Worth and St. Louis: $75
New York: $100
Other cities are comparably priced.

Multiple airlines including Alaska and Southwest are featuring these low fares which are available to buy through Dec. 5 for travel through early March.

There’s plenty of small print in the deals. Taxes and fees are extra. Most of the lowest fares are available only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Seats are limited. The selection has already been picked over, so you may not get the most desirable departure times or find any available at the advertised prices. Some of the lowest fares are available only on multiple-stop flights.

But, that said, it’s still worth looking.
