Pick up your camera and start thinking images: a leaf falling softly from one of the Narrows Bridges, a sunrise over Mount Rainier, a trio of playful kittens on a farm in Orting.

And there will be a prize.

The Tacoma Regional Convention + Visitor Bureau has announced its 2011 Fall Photo Contest.

The contest is open to entries that include images of the people, places, art or nature in Tacoma and/or Pierce County. The contest runs through Nov. 21 and is open to amateurs and professionals alike.

According to the bureau, entries will be judged on creativity and quality and must represent a place or attraction in Pierce County. Images should reflect the slogan: “Where Art and Nature meet.”

“Images should speak to the region’s urban sophistication and outdoor adventure. Entries that do not meet these specifications may not be considered,” the bureau said.

The winning photographer will receive a Crystal Mountain Winter Getaway prize package that includes one-night lodging at Crystal Mountain Hotels, breakfast for two at Alpine Inn Restaurant, a pair of scenic Gondola ride tickets and lunch for two at the Summit House. The winner will be chosen and announced approximately seven days after the contest deadline.

The winning photo may also be featured in the 2012 Tacoma + Pierce County Visitor Guide.
