Kohl’s Department Store announced today they plan to hire more than 40,000 temporary part-time workers during the holiday season.

In a news release this morning, the national chain said stores would hire an average of 35 extra people, which would translate to more than 300 jobs in Washington state’s nine stores including Puyallup and Lacey.

Kohl’s has 1,127 stores in 49 states.

“Seasonal associates can work anywhere from a few hours to more than 20 hours per week,” according to the release. “Typical store jobs include unloading trucks, freight processing, stocking and cash register duties. Hiring began this month, and most jobs will be filled by mid-November.”
