Larry Kellner, former chairman and CEO of Continental Airlines, is joining Boeing’s board of directors.

Kellner served as Continental’s chief executive from 2004 through 2009. Kellner, 52, is now president of Emerald Creek Group, a private equity firm based in Houston.

Continental is merged with United Airlines, now the world’s largest air carrier.

Prior to joining Continental, Kellner was executive vice president and chief financial officer of American Savings Bank, and executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Koll Company, a private real estate investment and construction firm.
