Another growing out-of-state retail chain is opening its first Washington store in Puyallup.

Charming Charlie, a Texas-based women’s fashion retailer, plans to open its first store in the Evergreen State Oct. 11 in South Hill Mall.

The South Hill Mall was the site of the first Washington store for a nationwide sporting goods chain, Dick’s Sporting Goods, two years ago, and an out-of-state barbeque chain, Dickey’s Barbeque Pit, has announced plans to build one of its first Washington stores on South Hill.

South Hills’ South Meridian was also the location of the first local branch of Sonic Drive-In four years ago.

Charming Charlie sells fashion jewelry, accessories, handbags, tops, dresses and shoes. Charming Charlie opened its first store in 2004. It now has some 100 locations in 16 states.

The fashion chain is named after its founder and CEO, Charlie Chanaratsopon.
