Boeing and Air Lease Corp. have completed a $2.5 billion order for 14 737-800 single aisle jets and for five 777-300ER long-range twin jets, the companies announced today.

That order also includes options for Air Lease to buy four more 737s.

Air Lease is the Los Angeles-based aircraft leasing company headed by Steven Udvar-Hazy, the former head of International Lease Finance Corp., the ex-AIG unit that was the largest aircraft leasing company in the world.

The 737-800 is the best-selling member of the 737 family of short and medium-range aircraft that is the world’s most popular jetliner. The planes are built in Renton.

The 777-300ER is the most popular in the 777 line of twin-engine, long haul jets. The aircraft can fly more than 9,100 miles without refueling. The 777 is built in Boeing’s Everett wide-bodied jetliner plant.

Boeing and ALC are still working on a deal to complete an order for four 787-9 Dreamliners.
