Northwest Hardwoods, a Weyerhaeuser unit whose sale was announced this week, will move its headquarters to downtown Tacoma in the fall, the company’s new owners said this afternoon.

Paul Bamatter, a partner with New York-based American Industrial Partners, confirmed through e-mail that the 40 or so employees who work at the business’s current Federal Way offices will move after the sale closes in August.

Northwest Hardwood’s new offices will be in the Bank of America Plaza at 802 A St., which is owned by Tacoma-based development company Prium.
