Here’s an update on a story earlier this week concerning sewer construction at Point Ruston.

According to City of Tacoma spokesman Rob McNair-Huff, the City Council at it’s Tuesday meeting approved Resolution 38229, “which will result in the payment of $3 million for portions of the ongoing Local Improvement District work that have already been finished within the Point Ruston development.”

The vote was 9-0.

Specifically, the approved resolution was a second amendment to the Agreement for Improvements with Point Ruston LLC, for the reimbursement of certain improvements within the ASARCO Tacoma Smelter Superfund Site.

The reimbursement would occur through the issuance of warrants which would be repaid once Phase I is completed.
