Tacoma auctioneer Randy Ehli, head of the reconstituted Ehli Auctions, said today that his firm will next week conduct an online sale of the fixtures and fundamentals of Il Fiasco Italian Restaurant.

The restaurant, located at 2717 6th Ave., will close this week, Ehli said. There was no one to comment at Il Fiasco Thursday afternoon and the news of closure had not been posted at their Web site.

Ehli said the auction will be conducted entirely online, with opening bids taken beginning on Tuesday and running a week, through 2 p.m. on Jan. 12.

Among the items up for sale are coolers, a freezer, sinks, a stove, tables, chairs, stools, chandeliers, a wine rack and more. More information and the auction itself may be accessed at www.cyberauctions.com.

Kind of sad, but I never even knew this place existed. If a biz wants to stay in the game they need to advertise! I love Italian food and if I had been aware there was a decent place to get it around here I would have jumped at the chance.

I just can not believe the owner did not notify his staff. Shame on him!

we had our typical wednesday girls night (half price wine and the 3 plate pasta special), saw our usual waitress…nothing seemed amiss. delicious, as usual.

hioctane – where did you hear the owner didn’t tell them? that’s terrible, and seems possible considering no one mentioned anything to us when we were there just a few days ago.

I got gift certificate for my birthday i wonder if they will refund it…… it hasnt even been a month since i got it, you think they maybe would have said something to my dad when he purchased it…..

  5. hioctane says:

I did hear that he made sure his employees were taken care of. So I need to apologize for my previous comment.

I will miss il Fiasco as well

just to make it clear, i worked there over the summer and again for 2 and a half weeks in dec for the holidays. not only did the owner not tell us of the closing of the restaurant (we found out one day when the auctioneer came to take pictures) but he also had a bad habit of not being able to pay his employees on time. and when he did they would bounce half the time. even the checks to our purveyors! honestly he just didn’t know what he was doing or how to communicate with his workers. oh and that freezer that leaked water all over the floor wasn’t exactly safe either.
