There are lots of reasons to be happy these days. The economy is rumbling back to life, the lottery is kicking out millions to several lucky folks and Spring, finally, is in the air. I doubt any of that will help the mood of Buzz Nielsen, the police chief in West Valley City, Utah.

Nielsen’s department spent a great deal of time, energy and resources on the Susan Powell disappearance. Detectives conducted a painstaking crime scene investigation. They traced potential sites to find her body. Then they searched each location with shovels, dogs and determination. The intent of their efforts was to provide that …

Family and friends of Susan Cox Powell have waited almost two years for some word, any word on the disappearance of this young mother from her home in West Valley City, Utah.

Now they have a word. Bones.

Investigators at West Valley City P.D., who first explored the rugged mine shafts dotted throughout an eastern Nevada scrubland, have finally come across a possible link to Cox Powell’s disappearance in the desert near Delta, Utah. According to the Trib article (9/14), human remains were found in one of these shafts. Could it be Susan Cox Powell?

We won’t …

Somewhere, sitting on a beach with her lover and sipping a cocktail with an umbrella, is the long-lost Susan Cox Powell. That, at least, is a plausible scenario according to her husband, Joshua Powell and father-in-law, Steven Powell.

It’s an interesting story, one many of us would like to believe, but the police would like to know more. Unfortunately, the Powell men remain hidden behind their attorney’s skirt, venturing forth only to spread salacious stories through tabloid and network news.

The disappearance of Susan Cox Powell, now almost two years ago, has been an extremely disturbing incident. The media feeding …
