White River Valley Museum gets $20,000 in grants and donations

The White River Valley Museum and Mary Olson Farm in Auburn recently received $14,188 in grants from 4Culture, United Natural Foods, Inc. and the Rotary Club of Kent to fund educational programs and farm restoration. An additional $6,150 in community contributions were received to help fund the museum’s Free Wednesdays program.

The museum, in partnership with the City of Auburn, documents and presents local history, focusing on Northwest Indian culture, railroad and farm history, and Japanese immigration. The grant money will help create study kits for local schools and online inventories of the archive; as well as restoring the nearby …
