Tonight’s Salish Sea Festival concert at Christ Episcopal Church, Tacoma rescheduled due to weather

Tonight’s scheduled concert at Christ Episcopal Church Tacoma has been rescheduled to Jan. 30, due to possible inclement weather tonight. The concert features music of the court of Louis XIV, played by the Salish Sea Festival trio of early music specialists John Lenti, Jeffrey Cohan and Joanna Blendulf.

Early music fans, rejoice: Tacoma’s about to be gifted with not one but five concerts by the Salish Sea Festival, a locally-based group of period-instrument musicians playing music from the renaissance, baroque and early classical periods at two Tacoma churches: Christ Episcopal and Grace Lutheran.

Music for Louis XIV next Thursday at Trinity Lutheran, Tacoma, thanks to the Salish Sea Festival

They were concerts given three hundred years ago for an aging French king who thought he was divine – and now the music is playing again in Tacoma next Thursday night.
