Tacoma’s Art at Work Month to get $10,000 in NEA grant money

The National Endowment for the Arts has just announced that the Tacoma Arts Commission will receive $10,000 to support the Art at Work Arts Symposium, as well as other artist support, in 2011. The funding is part of the NEA’s first round of 2011 grants, supporting 1,057 non-profit organizations around the country with $26.68 million.

Art at Work Month is an annual program in November organized by the Arts Commission which connects Tacoma artists to the public via a studio tour weekend, an art slide slam, arts events and awards, and a weekend-long symposium to give artists professional

Broadway Center wins $15,000 NEA grant for diversity in presentations

Tacoma’s Broadway Center for Performing Arts is just one of two Washington presenting organizations to win a $15,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in its 2010 Access to Artistic Excellence program, it announced today. The grant was awarded in recognition of the BCPA’s 2010 program of high-quality, community-driven and diverse arts presentations.
