Greek theater in Olympia at Evergreen State College

South Puget Sound isn’t exactly brimming with Ancient Greek theater, so here’s a great chance to see two plays in the one weekend. The Greek Theatre Program at Evergreen State College in Olympia is mounting Euripides’ tragedy “The Trojan Women,” about the slavery and misery that awaits the wives of soldiers in the Trojan Wars, and Aristophanes’ “Lysistrata,” set in the conflicted end of the Athenian empire and its democracy, as Lysistrata and her female cohorts boycott sex until their men agree to their demands.
