One of North Tacoma’s biggest festivals is back this weekend – the Proctor Arts Fest, now in its 16^th year and as big as ever. Arts vendors, free film, the Bite of Proctor, live music and the dog fashion parade are among the favorites that’ll be back at this street fair that attracts around 10,000 people each year. The festival mostly runs 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday, with sidewalk sale Friday and juried art show Sunday, and is centered on the intersection at North 26^th and Proctor Streets, Tacoma. It’s free and family-friendly.

Live music includes Hook Me Up jazz, Steve Curran Karate demo, Sherri Woolworth, Reilley and Maloney and The Shy Boys at the Main Stage; and One World Taiko, Mario Lorenz magic, Bakra Bata steel drum band, PK Dwyer, The Bears Upstairs and The Zambini Brothers Puppeteers on the Family Stage. A third stage (new this year) is the Chalet Bowl stage, with Los Flacos, accordionist Toby Hanson, the Lance Buller Trio, Kimball and the Fugitives and Morgan & Graves.

A mass ukelele performance will run from 9-11 a.m. on the Farmers’ Market Stage, with Morse Pacific and Spare Thyme following.
