Chair Affair at Tacoma’s Museum of Glass benefits NW Furniture Bank

A tiny glass chair handblown by the Hot Shop artists at Tacoma’s Museum of Glass is the headline item for the third annual Chair Affair, the fundraising auction for the Northwest Furniture Bank. Every year the auction features chairs created or painted by local artists to benefit the Bank’s mission of providing home furnishings for Pierce County families in need. The auction this year is on March 20 at the Museum of Glass.

Bid for local-artist-designed furniture at Chair Affair fundraiser for the Northwest Furniture Bank

I don’t often cover fundraisers in this blog, or elsewhere – there are just too many, all very worthy, and too many other purely artistic events that it’s my beat to cover. But occasionally, something comes up that’s both, and this week, the Chair Affair is one such.

The Northwest Furniture Bank is holding its inaugural Chair Affair auction at the Tacoma Art Museum on March 4.
