Walk the art at Third Thursday Art Mingle

Next Thursday is the monthly art walk around Tacoma, where museums are free and galleries open late with special events. Take the Art Bus to unexpected art spaces (tacomaartbus.com), see Kathy Gore Fuss’ Northwest landscape oils at Gallery 301 (301 Puyallup Ave., only open during this event), see new work at galleries like Fulcrum (1308 Martin Luther King Jr. Way) and visit Tacoma Art Museum (1701 Pacific Ave.), the Museum of Glass (1801 Dock St) and the Washington State History Museum (1911 Pacific Ave.) for free. 5-8 p.m. June 20. See “The Lorax” free at the Click Family Flick

This month’s free Click Family Flick at the Grand Cinema is “The Lorax,” last year’s sweet animated version of the Dr. Seuss classic with feathery orange trees and a deep environmental message. Catch sweet, hot jazz at Tacoma Musical Playhouse

It’s not just plays at Tacoma Musical Playhouse this weekend. On Saturday night you can experience New Orleans jazz courtesy of Marilyn Keller and the Black Swan Classic Jazz Band at TMP’s 7th Jazz@TMP night, “Sweet and Hot.” You’ll hear authentic early jazz and ragtime by Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, Scott Joplin and more. 8 p.m. June 15. $25. Hear song from psalms to Shakespeare from the Tacoma Singing Society

Megan Oberfeld, musical director and soloist with the Puget Sound Revels, leads the Tacoma Singing Society in “Shakespeare, Psalms and the Well-Traveled Tune” this Saturday, with eclectic choral music by Schubert, Hindemith, Schumann, Mathias and Vaughan Williams. 7:30 p.m. June 15. $15.
