Jazz Live at Marine View with Scott Cossu

This month’s Jazz Live at Marine View church features Northwest composer and pianist Scott Cossu playing his own unique blend of jazz, classical and ethnic/New Age. Playing with him will be Jon Croarkin on flutes, harmonica and sax, Steven Banks on drums, Dan O’Brien on bass and Tor Dietrichson on conga and percussion.

“Sylvia” opening at Tacoma Little Theatre

Opening at Tacoma Little Theatre this weekend is “Sylvia,” a comedy by A.R. Gurney about what happens when a stray dog comes in between a husband and wife.

Western art and more at the Puyallup Fair

This year’s Puyallup Fair has as much visual art as ever, including the open art exhibition in all media, the 70-year-old photography salon, artist demonstrations, the junior/senior high school show and the Fred Oldfield Western Heritage Center, displaying western and Native American art. 10 a.m.-10 p.m. daily Sept. 7-23. “Earth, Sea, Sky” at PLU

Pacific Lutheran University’s Ingram Hall offers “Earth, Sea, Sky” as its opening exhibit for the school year: expressive, realist and abstract landscapes from the collection in a variety of media.
