Time flies when you’re having fun – and it doesn’t seem 10 years since Tacoma’s Museum of Glass opened its doors. But it’s true: The museum turns 10 this month, and is celebrating this weekend with reduced admission, a party and more. From Friday through Sunday, visitors pay just $10 (and free for kids 12 and under) to see international glass and the Hot Shop team in action.

From 7-10 p.m. Friday the admission also gets you entry to the Shatter Sessions party, where bands like Friends and Family, Nolan Garrett, Hot Bodies in Motion, Joy Wants Eternity, Miles Max and Rumble Pack, and Not From Brooklyn attempt to shatter glass purely with music. Food and drinks will be supplied by Choripan and Social Bar and Grill, there’ll be fair-style games, live glassblowing and more. Entry $10 advance/$15 at door.

On Saturday you can be among the first to see the new exhibit by Italian glass maestro Lino Tagliapietra, and meet him at the reception from 7-10 p.m. ($12 entry).

And the annual Tent Sale will be on in the plaza: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
