Barefoot Dance Collective in “Ides of May”

Join the Barefoot Dance Collective and three local choreographers in an evening of modern dance in a brand new venue: the newly-renovated Studio 3 at the Broadway Center for Performing Arts downtown. Seats, curtains and a black-box atmosphere transform a rehearsal space into a dance theater for tBFC’s annual “Ides of May” show. 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. May 12, 3 p.m. May 13. $15/$18. Tacoma Youth Symphony plays gypsy music

The Tacoma Youth Symphony, the highest orchestra of seven in the TYSA, plays its final concert this Sunday at the Rialto, featuring gypsy-themed music by George Enescu, Schumann, Saint-Saëns, Romberg and Brahms. 3 p.m. May 13. $7 main floor/$17 balcony. Ride and Seek at Tacoma Art Museum

As a free Third Thursday ArtWalk event, TAM is holding “Ride/Seek,” a bike-related evening of art activities linking gay art exhibit “Hide/Seek” with National Bike Month. Events include the film “Bill Cunningham New York,” about the fashion photographer and cycle enthusiast, bike-themed letterpress art by Beautiful Angle and Stadium High students and more. 5-8 p.m. April 17. ArtWalk: new shows at Flow, Fulcrum, AAC and more
